REPs in Wales

The Register is growing faster than ever imagined across the whole of the UK, but Wales is the first country to have appointed its own specific Officer. We are already working hard to move the Register forward in Wales, offering a suitable bi-lingual service, providing impartial advice on all training concerns in Wales and helping to raise the standards of service that the Welsh public is receiving from exercise professionals.

The Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) has realised the importance of REPs in Wales, and has not only funded the Welsh Officer position through the Sports Council for Wales Coaching Plan, but it is also ensuring that all schemes developed and funded by the Assembly require instructors to be registered at the appropriate level. The WAG recently published “Exercise Referral – a guide to developing high quality schemes” making it a clear requirement for exercise professionals to be suitably qualified and registered with REPs.

Free Advanced Directory Listing for Wales Based Instructors
Our arrangement with the Sports Council Wales allows Wales based instructors to have a free entry on our new advanced directory search listing. The REPs members directory allows browsers to be search for REPS members by qualification, location, name or registration number – the Advanced Directory Listing allows you to post a short profile and contact details (telephone, email and web) so they may contact you directly if they need your services. This is especially beneficial for group exercise teachers, personal trainers and those with higher qualifications.
